Hooray! A new chapter!

Chapter 10 has been released. Go enjoy it.

I know the contest is long over and done with, but I’ve felt compelled to try and continue this novel on my own time. I can’t promise any fast updates, but hopefully I will at least, one day, finish this.

So I’ve gone and finished chapter 9 and added it to the site. Woohoo!!

I won’t be updating the word counters any more, for those who may be wondering.

Chapter 8 is finally finished and up. Would have been out even earlier but let’s just say I got distracted with a few real life issues that popped up.

So here we are. It’s the 15th of November. The month is literally one-half over. Where do I stand on my novel? Well, 28969 / 50000 words. 58% done! Slightly better than expected and a little ahead of schedule. Not a lot, but some.

I can do this.

Sorry about the delay between chapters. I’ve been rather busy lately. I honestly don’t know when the next chapter will be out either. I now have 52% of my novel finished. I know the month is about half over and I need to pick up the pace a little more else I run the risk of falling behind and not finishing in time.

In any case, enjoy chapter 7.

Chapter six is now available to be read.  I also went back and fixed a lot of mistakes that appeared in chapter five.  I’m not sure how those mistakes happened (most were spacing issues) but they’re fixed.

The total word count at this point is now 21,569.  Over 20k! Woohoo!  That’s around 43% of the way through the novel and I still have tons of stuff to write.  As I said before, the adventure is just getting started.

In an effort to not burn out and completely stop writing, I will be slowing down my pace. Instead of one or two chapters every single day, I will now attempt to write one or two chapters every two or three days with the condition that the chapters must be more than 3,000 words in length a piece.

By doing this I should still be able to hit the 50,000 word limit, with ease, and hopefully not get tired of my story and give up.

So expect chapter five sometime tomorrow.

To make up for not having a chapter today I found and uploaded all I had from my 2005 attempt at NaNoWriMo. You can see that I’m already way further than I was in 2005 and may actually finish it this time.

With the release of the longest chapter yet, chapter 4, I have passed the 10k mark into the novel. Woohoo! With 25 days left to finish the novel, I’m starting to believe that I may actually do it.

Hoozah! The next two chapters have been finished. Together they’re quite a doozy.

So far my grand word total is 9750. That’s 19.5% finished with the novel. I still have ton of material to put through the heroes through. The epic journey has yet to even really start. So stay tuned!

Woohoo! I managed to write both the prologue and chapter 1 in the same day. I’m on a roll. I guess.
